Pulse Flow Portable Oxygen Concentrators
Pulse Flow Portable Oxygen Concentrators are smaller compared to continuous flow, so they also supply modest amounts of oxygen. They work well for patients who need 4 LPM or less.
Pulse flow concentrators are light, small, and easy to carry around in a bag. These machines provide the user with flexibility and mobility even while under oxygen therapy. Since pulse flow POCs provide intermittent oxygen flow, they are not compatible with CPAP or BiPAP units. If you need to use CPAP or BiPAP, choose a continuous flow POC instead, or a concentrator that has both pulse-flow and continuous flow settings.
These units work by pulsing oxygen into your nose periodically using a nasal cannula, so the device can deliver it with each breath. The oxygen only flows during inhalation and is stored in the machine when you exhale.
